Young trailriders to catch express
YOUNG motorbike riders should get ready to board the Pony Express at the end of the month.
Curtis Coast Trail Riders Club has introduced a six-round junior pony express series this year and rounds will take place every four to five weeks.
The first round gets underway on February 27 at the Turkey Beach track.
Curtis Coast Trail Riders president Josh O’Donoghue said the new track was marked out last week.
The track, about 10-15km long, provides junior riders with an excellent course, as there is a mixture of gullies, wooded and open areas, and creeks, and will challenge more experienced riders.
Riders who are 16 years of age on the day are able to compete in the enduro series.
O’Donoghue said the series is the first of its kind in Central Queensland and would be the ideal outlet for junior riders to get out on a quality track and ride.
The first Curtis Coast Trail Riders Club meet is set down for March 13.
