Yeppoon Swans continue to the the kings of big wins

AUSSIE RULES: Yeppoon Swans romped to yet another comfortable 100-plus point win.

This time the struggling Gladstone Mudcrabs were at the receiving end as Jake King booted eight goals to lead the Swans to a 20.21 (141) to 5.3 (33) win.

It was set up in the first half when the result was already decided.

Muddies managed just one point in the first half while Yeppoon piled on 63 points.

At least the visiting Gladstone Mudcrabs side salvaged some pride in the third quarter when they booted 5.1, four that came off Steve Eilola's boot.

The powerful forward has now kicked 51 goals to be the league's leading goal-kicker.

Despite the best efforts from Mudcrabs' Ricky McClure, Thaiday Reuben, Adam Hornbrook, Darren Lusher and Jay Warry, the Swans simply had too much class all over the ground.

With aggressive ruckman Jamie Garner on top and a fleet of midfielders Matt Wallin, Leigh Cossens and speedster Isaac Kielly, King and Alexander Stevenson went on to kick 12 goals between them.

Captain Wallin also helped himself to three goals and Gough Breer-Barry chipped in with two majors.

Even though the Gladstone Mudcrabs sit at second-last on the ladder, the race is well and truly on for fourth spot.

Glenmore Bulls (fourth) and Rockhampton Kangaroos also have two wins.

With the bye this weekend, it will give players the chance to rest ahead of a fascinating run home in the final six minor-round matches.

The Mudcrabs are at Clinton to BITS Saints while Panthers take on the Swans and Glenmore up against Rocky Kangaroos on Saturday week.
