Workers get family breakdown help
A NEW program aimed at education and supporting families is being brought to Gladstone.
The Activate Program will help families deal with stress and breakdown and it aims to counsel those affected by it.
It is a program designed to be purchased by employers to help counsel their work-force.
Amovita Consulting senior consultant Sally Cooper said high levels of family stress/breakdown and work cover claims can result in pressure in the work place affecting the family unit.
Ms Cooper is the leading counsellor in the fields of grief, loss, depression, anxiety, addictions and life skills training.
Her goal for the program is to see positive outcomes for families who take part and she is passionate about working with families in Gladstone.
"The Activate Program will support families through education on communication, counselling and positive goal setting," she said.
The Activate Program has been developed for mining families.
"It is anticipated other employers with staff who are employed in shift work and responsibilities, which geographically isolate them from their families, will be keen to purchase the Activate Program for their staff and their families to participate," she said.
The Activate Program will be delivered in Mackay, Rockhampton, Bowen and Gladstone.
"My goal is to see the positive outcomes from the families who participate.
"I am very passionate about working with families throughout Queensland and my professional expertise and qualifications in the industry are noted on the Amovita website."
