Crochet enthusiasts put heart and soul into good cause

EVERY Monday the Dorcas craft group take over the Saint Saviours Hall to crochet.

Organiser Kerry Yates said no matter what the women created, they put their hearts and souls into it.

"It's the same six or so ladies that come every week to crochet for fun and for a good cause," she said.

"From 9am to lunch time we all meet up and have a chat and cup of tea which is just lovely."

The women create everything from tea towels to rugs to scarfs to gift packs and baby bundles.

"We're aiming to sell everything we've made at the Mother's Day stall and all those funds go back to people in need," she said.

"Up until March every year we sponsor one lad from Fiji.

"They're lovely boys and our funds to help them have a better quality of life."

The group encouraged anyone who was interested to come along.
