Woman suffers suspected spinal injuries in fall from horse
A WOMAN has been airlifted from a property at Lake Awoonga after suffering suspected spinal injuries in a fall from her horse.
The RACQ Capricorn Helicopter landed on a property adjoining Lake Awoonga on Thursday afternoon to attend to the injured middle-aged woman, who had been mustering on an inaccessible part of the property.
The rescue crew had to walk several hundred meters through the foliage to reach the patient.
The woman fell from her horse and was treated for suspected spinal injuries and broken ribs by paramedics, before being transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital for further treatment.
