Winter wonderland: Frost blankets Eungella as temps plummet

EUNGELLA was transformed into a winter wonderland this morning as white frost blanketed the hills.

While Mackay's official low was 4.8C, it was even colder west of the city with the Crediton Creek flats near Eungella plummeting to minus 5C.

Mandy Tennent, of Cloudbreak Lowlines and Eungella Beef, shared incredible photos of the big frost at her property.

The cold conditions were widespread, with Proserpine dropping to 2.5C, Clermont falling to 0.6C, Blackwater recording a low of 6.7C, Emerald reaching 5.2C and Moranbah falling to 1.1C.

Warmer conditions have been forecast for Saturday, with Mackay expecting a low of 8C and a high of 22.

On Sunday and Monday, the Bureau of Meteorology have forecast even warmer overnight temperatures, with a low of 13C on both days.
