FRIDAY:

DJ mixes dance beats at the Reef

HIP-hop urban DJ Samrai will headline a gig at the Reef Hotel on Friday night. 

The dance-mixing DJ boasts live shows with the Crusty Demons and has had gigs at Stereosonic, Good Vibrations, the Motorola Snowboard World Cup, Quicksilver Pro and ParkLife.

He also features on some of the world's biggest labels including Universal Music and Ministry of Sound.

SATURDAY:

Ballet, hip hop and tap dance spectacular

RAMPTON'S Danzeneregy has put together a fantastic night of entertainment with two outstanding performances.

Be taken to a magical realm with Snow White and The Huntsman in a twist on the fairy tale told through the divine art of ballet.

Snow White and the Huntsman meet all the usual lovable characters such as the dwarves, forest animals, fairies and the mystical stag.

The tap sequences in Hungry Town will dazzle audiences with the pure energy the dancers bring to the performance. 

The performance will be held at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre from 5pm. Tickets cost $30 adults and $18 pensioner/student, and can be booked here.

Old time dance

THE Mount Larcom and District Show Society will hold an unlicensed old time dance with some new vogue and novelty dances for the young at heart in the Mt Larcom Public Hall.

Music will will provided by Peter Murphy's Two-Can from 7.30pm-11.30pm. There will be lucky door prize, raffle, novelties, supper served and drinks available.

RSPCA cent sale

HEAD to the Gladstone Bowls Club for the Friends of RSPCA Gladstone's final fundraiser for the year.

Doors open at 11am for a 1pm start, with cake walks, raffles including Christmas puddings and cakes, and kids' draws as well as Christmas afternoon tea provided. The multi-draw Christmas raffle and new TV prize also will be drawn.

Get fit with Parkrun

STOCKLAND Gladstone and Parkrun Australia have launched a unique, community run program that provides free weekly timed 5km running events for people of all ages and abilities every Saturday morning from 7am-8am at Lions Park.

Irish dance and music spectacular

CELTIC Illusion is the breathtaking new Irish dance show created and directed by Australian dancer Anthony Street.

Combining a fusion of contemporary Irish dance and music with grand scale illusions creates a unique performance concept that sets it apart from all other dance shows.

From the very second the lights go down the audience embarks on an adventure where anything is possible and the world of dreams becomes reality.

The performance will be held at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre from 7pm. Tickets cost $44.90 to $59.90 and can be booked here.

Central Queensland White Ribbon Ride

WITH White Ribbon Day just around the corner, a local charity ride will be held to raise awareness and funds for Australia's campaign to stop violence against women.

The ride begins in Gladstone before heading to Miriam Vale and Lowmead.

Riders have been invited from around central Queensland, meeting at any of the townships to join the ride.

There will be a free breakfast from 7am at Nhulundu Health, before riders depart at 9.30am for Miriam Vale, where donations will be collected.

Riders will leave Miriam Vale for Lowmead at 11.30am, finishing at the local farmers market for lunch and speeches.

Cedar Galleries farmers markets

FARMERS Markets are held every Sunday at Cedar Galleries. The markets provide locally grown fresh produce, various market stalls, rides and jumping castles for the kids.

Come along for breakfast or coffee and cake at the cafe, and don't forget to say hi to the popular alpacas.

The markets run from 8am to noon at 49544 Bruce Hwy, Benaraby.

Sunday session at Yachties

END your weekend with a Sunday session in the Yachties Beer Garden at Gladstone Yacht Club from 2.30pm to 6pm.

There will be live music from Fudge, plus great drink specials.
