What's on around Gladstone this weekend? Plenty!
LOOKING for something to do in the Gladstone region this weekend? Here's a rundown of some of the events and activities available from April 4 to 6, 2014.
Harbour Festival Fun Run
THE annual Harbour Festival Fun Run offers a 10km and 3km distance, catering for all fitness levels and is open to the whole family.
The run is a loop circuit that begins and ends at the Gladstone Area Water Board Fish Hatchery. The course will take runners across the marina bridge and through the marina parklands.
For those will a little more puff, the 10km course will proceed to Spinnaker Park.
Registrations will be taken on the morning of the event from 6am. The race starts at 7am, and entry is $5.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service.
Great Raft Race
AUCKLAND Creek will be lined with spectators, colourful rafts and their crazy crews for NRG's Great Raft Race.
The competition will be fierce and the rivalry is intense in this annual race as competitors float, splash and paddle their way to the finish line for $6000 in prizes.
The fun gets underway at 10.30am.
The Observer's Marina Markets
THERE will be something for everyone at The Observer's Marina Markets, running on Friday and Saturday as part of the Harbour Festival.
The markets will be on from 8am to 4pm.
Harbour Festival Parade
THE 2014 Gladstone Harbour Festival Workforce International Street Parade has been rescheduled for Friday at 4pm, after being unable to proceed on Sunday because of wet weather.
The colourful carnival parade will depart from the O'Connell Wharf area on Flinders Parade (near the Gladstone Yacht Club), make its way over the Marina Bridge and finish at the Mission to Seafarers Building.
Harbour Festival Fantastic Friday Night
ACCA Dacca is your chance to see AC/DC reincarnated. The band has performed worldwide and gained a reputation as one of the best AC/DC shows today.
The show kicks off at the marina main stage at 6.30pm.
There also will be all the fun of the carnival, and fireworks at 8.30pm.
Harbour Festival Sizzling Saturday Night
TAKING centre stage at the Gladstone Marina is the All Star SuperGroup, a tribute band made up of Superstars.
They'll present a combination of tributes that include Elton John, Liam Gallagher of Oasis, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, David Bowie, Mick Jagger with Keith Richards, and even ZZ Top, all within the same set, producing a unique, and fast paced visual treat, with each star performing their classic hits.
And there'll be fireworks from 8pm.
Bush Poet's Breakfast
COME on down to the Harbour Festival Food Court and enjoy a morning filled with true blue bush comedy and a hot Aussie brekkie.
Tickets are $10 which includes live entertainment and breakfast. The event runs from 7-8.30am.

Teddy Bears' Picnic
IF you go down to the festival today, you're sure of a big surprise. Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic!
Grab your favourite teddy bear, whether they're big, small, old or new for Stockland Gladstone's Teddy Bear's Picnic, at the festival food court from 10am.
Easter Festival Race Day
EXPERIENCE the thrill of a day at the races at Gladstone Turf Club. Six local races will be held, including the Greg McCann Memorial Race.
There will be TAB facilities, bookies, bar and entertainment, plus Fashions on the Field.

Miriam Vale Lions Markets in the Park
THE Miriam Vale Lions Club hosts the Miriam Vale Markets on the third Saturday of each month at Blomfield St, Miriam Vale.
Stroll through the delightful cool and shady park to view a variety of stalls, or try a sizzling fillet steak, sausage or bacon burger.
The markets run from 7am to noon.
Markets in the Park
HELD on the third Saturday of each month, Biloela Markets in the Park offer a wide variety of stalls for everyone to enjoy.
There will be fresh produce, a huge variety of plants, jewellery, clothing, accessories and hand crafted goodies.
The markets run from 8am to 2pm at Barimis Park, Callide St, Biloela.
Get fit with Parkrun
STOCKLAND Gladstone and Parkrun Australia faciliate a unique, community run program that provides free weekly timed 5km running events for people of all ages and abilities every Saturday morning from 7am - 8am at Lions Park.

Jazz n Shiraz at the Harbour Festival
THE Gladstone Harbour Festival gets cool with an unforgettable evening of jazz, swing, soul and funk.
Soak up the electric atmosphere with a stellar line up of award winning performers including the Australian Blues Brothers, and Tom Burlinson with his eight-piece band.
Australia's premier Blues Brother tribute show has packed theatres and dances floors around the world, and will have everyone shakin' their tail feathers with an all singing, all dancing revue.
Tom Burlinson and his band offers a salute to masters of swing from yesteryear - Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Tony Bennet, Sammy Davis Jnr and Bobby Darin.
A performance would not be complete without also celebrating the superstars of today - Harry Connick Jnr, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams.
A licensed bar will be operating and food will be available, but patrons are welcome to take along their own nibbles, picnic blankets and chairs.

Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race After Party
THE Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race After Party will kick off at the Yachties Beer Garden at Gladstone Yacht Club, 1 Goondoon St, at 2.30pm.
There will be live music, Bundy and Smirnoff promotions, seafood available all day and a great view of the river.
Special visitors at Stockland
EASTER Bunny will be visiting Stockland Gladstone with his friend Alice in Wonderland between 10am and 1pm.
The shopping centre is at 191 Philip St, Gladstone.
Rotary Kmart Markets
THE Rotary Club of Gladstone Midday Markets are held on the third Saturday of each month in the Kmart car park on Phillip St, Gladstone.
There is a wide range of goods on offer including food, coffee, cakes, jewellery, hand-made soaps, plants, toys, clothes and bric-a-brac.
There also is entertainment from local artists. The markets run from 6am to 1.30pm.
Cedar Galleries Farmers Market
EVERY Sunday morning Cedar Galleries is a gathering place for families enjoying breakfast, shoppers with baskets gathering up a range of fresh produce and gourmet goodies, stallholders, kids jumping on the castle and alpacas happily handfeeding with visitors at the gate.
You can even have your tarot or angel cards read.
