Weather: Showers less likely after storms across region

ODDS are even for showers over the Gladstone region today after last night's storms.

The Bureau of Meteorology is again warning of possible thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, possibly severe, with a 50% chance of showers forecast.

The Biloela observation station only recorded 1.2mm of rain since 5pm yesterday, but experienced winds raging up to 46kmh with gusts of up to 76kmh at 5.08pm.

Winds in Biloela are still strong this morning, with easterly wind speeds of 26kmh with gusts of up to 39kmh recorded at 7am. 

While one Gladstone observation station recorded no rain at all in the last 24 hours, 10.6mm fell on Gladstone Airport between 6.30pm and 8.30pm last night. 

Today's temperatures are set to reach the mid to high 20s across the region, with a top of 27 degrees forecast for Gladstone city.
