Hot days ahead for Gladstone

WHILE we wait for the weather to make up its mind Gladstone is on track for seven days straight of 30 degrees.

As the wettest March on record fades and we turn to April, May and June the Bureau of Meteorology expects the outlook for central Queensland to be dry, with an average amount of rainfall.

But a bureau spokesman said CQ residents could expect warm days and nights as we moved into the winter months.

"We've got El Nino conditions, continuing until mid 2016, where not just our modelling says we've got a 50% chance of going into a La Nina," he said.

"If you looked at it based on history we've got an increased chance of La Nina and in the next couple of weeks we will switch to a La Nina watch."
