Valleys take challenge

ITS first home-ground match was an outstanding success.

Valleys Football Club took on the Wallabys in the preseason tournament on Saturday and won.

Senior president Kieran Lawler said the day was a "cracker".

"It was neck and neck all day. It came down to the last match," he said.

Wallabys' president Adam Hamilton agreed. The seniors' match was the clincher, he said.

He was incredibly gracious about Valleys' win.

"It was a really good day. The grounds were looking superb."

For him the highlight of the day was the location of the competition.

"Just the Valleys having the opportunity to have a home game at their very own grounds."

Lawler said the goal was to hang on to the trophy in next year's tournament.

The Wallaby-Valleys preseason challenge involved under-7 to senior rugby league players.
