Top juniors brilliant at Marley Brown during grand finals

THE junior grand finals at Marley Brown on the weekend were awash with blue, with the Valleys Diehards walking away victorious in all four finals they contested.

Individual and team efforts were also rewarded with trophies given out in the Mod League for players under 12, and players 13-years-and-over recognised in the International awards.

Brothers had five teams playing the Gladstone District Junior Rugby League finals, but only their under-13 side managed a win.

The club had plenty of reason to still celebrate though, named as Champion Club.

Valleys player Jackson Hoyland won the Mod League most improved player award, while Calliope's Caleb Baker won the Mod League player of the year trophy.

Most improved team was given to the Seagulls under-12 squad, while Valleys player Jack Glossop took out the most improved International player.

Most outstanding International player was presented to Calliope player Bill Cullen and Sam Smith from Valleys won the International player of the year trophy.

Volunteers Jeff Hebbard, and Mel and Brian Pengelly were also recognised.
