Excellent participation, records set at Toolooa SHS carnival

TOOLOOA State High School had excellent participation across the board at their athletics carnival on Friday, according to sports coordinator Lynn Paap.

But it was the students from Heron who came first in the careport placings on 2819 points, with Elliott close behind on 2677 points.

Curtis placed third and in fourth place was Keppel.

Adding excitement to the day were a number of new records set by the following students; Kaena Truskett for the under-13 shot put, Chris Hopkins for the under-14 triple jump, Alen Smith for the under-15 shot put, Sam Smith for the under-19 shot put and discuss events and Georgia Muir in the open 1500m event.

Ms Paap said highlights from the day included the careport tunnel ball and the teacher versus student relay, in which both the male and female staff teams won.
