Time to get excited about harbour festival

THE buzz is starting to build around this year's Gladstone Harbour Festival, which promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The 2015 program is packed full of entertainment, markets, novelty events, fireworks, competitions, roving street entertainers, interactive activities, displays, rides and all the fun of the fair. 

Kicking off the entertainment on Wednesday, April 1 will be local band La Mont, followed by the Santos GLNG and 4CC Talent Quest, a night to showcase Gladstone's finest talent.

Gladstone Ports Corporation's Family Fun Night will be held on Thursday, April 2, featuring live shows from Lalaloopsy, The Octonauts and Mr Bump, along with a special appearance from GPC's very own Curtis the Turtle and the crowning of the Junior Queen Quest Entrants.

The Australian Kylie Show at Orica's Fabulous Friday night will be an event not to be missed.

It will feature Kylie Minogue's hits from the past three decades.

Bechtel's Sensational Saturday Night will rock the marina main stage with The Australian INXS Show.

The 2015 Festival Finale will feature Dan Hamill and Band, playing contemporary chart toppers with the sounds of Motown and swing. 

The Kids Zone Marquee will be the place to be for youngsters, with kids are invited to drop by on the Friday between 10am-3pm to make their spectator lanterns for the street parade.

Other activities such as craft, kids in the kitchen and more will be on offer in the Kids Zone over the rest of the Easter weekend.

There will be plenty to see on the harbour with the Blessing and Dressing of the Fleet from 10am on Friday, April 3, and NRG's Great Raft Race from 9.30am on Saturday, April 4.

Festival goers also will be able to track the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race on site.
