Old world charm on show at Raglan Fly In event
HAVE you ever gone for a joyride in an old-fashioned aircraft? Or seen the inner workings of heritage machinery? It's all part of the old world on offer at Raglan's Old Station this weekend, when it hosts the Fly In and Heritage Show.
The annual family-friendly event features children's entertainment, live music, and fashion parades, as well as aircraft, trucks, tractors and other machinery.
Organiser Leonie Creed said the event's Friday night dinner was already booked out, and she was expecting this year's crowds to be the event's biggest.
"There's a lot on over the weekend, but people are putting the Fly In and Heritage Show first, because events like this happen less and less," she said.
Up to 10,000 people are expected to visit The Old Station at Raglan over the Saturday and Sunday festivities.
Admission is $10, and kids under 12 can enter for free.
Camping is available on Saturday night, at $30 per site, with no bookings required.
Money raised will be donated to the vital service of Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service.
