Time to bust a move at progress association benefit dance

IF you're in Benaraby on Saturday, don't forget your dancing shoes, because the Benaraby Progress Association will hold its annual benefit dance.

And just like in previous years, they will raise money for the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service.

Benaraby Progress Association treasurer Valda Garson said they were expecting the event to attract up to 50 people.

"We've advertised the event extensively, so that's what we're hoping for," she said.

Throughout the year the association has held dances every Friday night.

"Mostly we enjoy our friendship. We are a very close-knit group."

Valda said when they held larger events like this, people travelled from Bundaberg, Mount Larcom and Bajool to attend.

Old-time and new vogue are their styles of dancing, which Valda said was a fun way to exercise too.

Head to the Benaraby Hall on the Bruce Hwy from 8pm-midnight for a fun evening. Admission is $10.
