Things get hairy as school marks last days of Movember
THINGS were getting hairy at Gladstone West State School on Monday.
Around 10am, students across all year levels lined the oval to watch pilot Drew Willard land a moustache-wearing helicopter on the school grounds.
The annual celebrations were to mark the final days of Movember, which is celebrated by men, women, teachers and students across the school.
With more than $200 raised from last year's fundraising efforts, Year 7 teacher Andrew Philps said the event would grow each year.
"Some of the students' parents had associations with a helicopter company, so we decided to land the chopper on the school grounds to mark the occasion," Mr Philps said.
