Calling from outside

TO TAKE or make a mobile phone call, Sandra Mullings must leave her house.

This lack of reception inside occurs at all times.

Being a loyal Telstra customer "all her life" the 53-year-old South Gladstone resident is frustrated by the company's lack of concern.

"Ever since I moved here five years ago, I've had the same problem," Ms Mullings said.

"I've just got into the habit of using my landline phone now. It's a nuisance."

Since she began receiving dialysis at Rockhampton and Gladstone hospitals earlier this year, she has missed numerous phone calls from her doctor.

"Most of the time they won't be able to reach me when I'm out or I'll get the message too late," she said.

"Even when I'm out with the grandkids I have trouble getting reception on my mobile. It's terrible,"

Ms Mullings didn't have the problem when living in Kin Kora a few years ago.

"Telstra definitely needs to look at the problem in Gladstone and something needs to be done soon," she said.
