The ledger stands at two wins each between NQ and SQ rivals
AUSSIE RULES: Star BITS Saints midfielder Danny Conway said to be selected in the North Queensland team is the highest honour he has achieved to date.
Classy Conway and Glenmore Bulls' multiple AFL Capricornia Bernie Gottke Medal winner Tim Higgins are the only two from Central Queensland who will take on the best from South Queensland this Saturday at Aspley Hornets Football Club Oval.
Wilston Grange product Conway has had a stellar season with his ability to find the ball and use it will class and he's one of the reasons why the Saints sit second on the ladder.
"I'm obviously wrapped being selected in the squad and finding out online was a bit different for me, but was always good to see my name in there among some of the really good North Queensland talent," he said.
Among those are 178-game ex-Melbourne Demons star Aaron Davey, who is now player-coach for Cairns City Lions in the AFL Cairns competition.
"I'm just looking forward to be able to run on the field with him and get a bit of experience and just to see what he does pre-game how he treats the whole experience," Conway said.
Brett Meredith, who played 16 games for Sydney from 2008-2012, is the only other player with AFL experience who will play in the NQ team.
It will be like home away from home for Conway who will play on an oval he is familiar with.
"Playing juniors in Brisbane, I played there quite a bit actually and Aspley had a dominant side so it's a really good field to play at and great facilities also," he said.
The game starts at 4.30pm.
