Musical memories revived on stage at GPAC performance

THE Gladstone Performing Arts Company is taking its audience on a journey through time with some of history's most-loved musical classics.

From Queen classics in We Will Rock You to If I Were a Rich Man in Fiddler on the Roof, members are putting on a variety show of classic songs.

Les Miserables, Chicago and The Lion King will also feature.

Rachael MacGregor and Ellen Terry will perform West Side Story's America.

Ms MacGregor performed in Boomtown last year and is looking forward to this latest production.

"It's all very well-known music," she said.

"I'm sure the audience will know it."

Natalie Heinemann said most of the songs were new for the company, but they also had about eight new members this year as well.

"We started learning a lot of the songs and movements in February," she said.

"We've got a more vocal range now but we'd still love more men to join the group."

Musical Through the Decades will be held on June 20 and 21 at 7.30pm at Shed 19, Dalrymple Dr, Gladstone.

Tickets are $20 adult, $17 senior and $12 students, available through GPAC members or from Fantasy Rags on Goondoon St.
