Boyne Tannum HookUp president Jeff Amos said the event would be jam packed with activities catering for the kids as well as mums and dads.

"We've got rides, slides, fishing simulators, fishing demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, and from the NRL we have Shane Webcke, Petero Civoniceva and more," he said.

"One of the big things we will be pushing this year is community health."

There is $270,000 to be won in the HookUp, including 10 boats, a Toyota RAV 4 and loads more.

The Boyne Tannum HookUp is one of the biggest family fishing events in Australia and attracts huge crowds.
