DO you find yourself on the edge of your seat, screaming what you would be doing, during TV shows like The Amazing Race?

The Yarwun State School will hold The Great Yarwun Valley Rally, an event that will have participants racing around town following clues and activities.

The family car rally will send people around Calliope, Boyne Island and Gladstone then back to Yarwun, visiting local businesses and completing activities on the way.

P&C committee member Tessa Baker said it was one of the school's biggest fundraising activities for the year.

"We are aiming to refurbish our old existing library into a more positive and safe learning environment that will ultimately develop information and technology skills," she said.

"(And) encourage creativity, improve literacy on a whole school level and be a place of retreat."

Upon arriving back in Yarwun, there will be a sausage sizzle, live music, market stalls, fun activities for kids and a major raffle.

The rally will be held on August 23 at 1pm, starting at the CQUniversity car park in Gladstone and finishing at the Yarwun State School.

Entry is $25. Tickets can be bought at the Feed Barn or at the school.
