Ten things to do this weekend

LOOKING for something to do this weekend? Well there's plenty to chose from.

We've put together a list of the top ten events to check out this weekend.

1. Armchair Anzac Talk

AN Armchair Anzac Talk will be held on Sunday at 1pm at the Genealogical Society building.

Stories of eight Anzac's with connections to Gladstone will be shared. Hear about their service, their families, their sacrifices and their awards for Gallantry.

2. GAPS support group

THE GAPS diet support group will meet  tomorrow at 94 Glenlyon St, Gladstone at 9.30am.

Sylvia Smith will present the seminars, contact 0400 739 489.

3. Jason Rich Foundation fun run

THE Jason Rich Foundation will host a fun run on Sunday from 7am.

The 5km run will start in Lions Park, Gladstone, off the Dawson Hwy.

The foundation was established in 2011 after Jason died in a single vehicle car accident in 2009.

Entry is $25 adults and $15 children.

4. Brothers take on the Valleys

WATCH a rematch of last year's A-grade rugby league grand final game on Saturday at 7pm at the Marley Brown Oval when Brothers take on the Valleys.

At 4pm the under 19s team will kick off the first match for the night, followed by reserve grade Brothers and Calliope Roosters at 5.30pm.

The oval has recently improved facilities with new seating.

5. Live country music

THE Bororen Pony Club will host an afternoon with country singer Don Costa on Sunday at the Bororen Hall.

The bar will be open and the barbecue will be sizzling by noon followed by the show at 1pm.

The event is $15.

6. Zorb soccer

ARE your children looking for something fun and adventurous to do this weekend?

The Discovery Coast Sport and Recreation Club will hold a zorb soccer day on Saturday.

From 2pm everyone is welcome to come along and give it a try. The free event is held at the club, located at 165 Anderson Way, Agnes Water.

7. Thangool races

FROCK up for a country-style race day.

On Saturday a race meet will be held at the Thangool Race Club.

There will be local races, fun and fashion and everything a keen punter needs, with the TAB, bookies, the Sky Channel will be on TV, with a bar and canteen.

A free bus service will depart from Biloela Visitor Information Centre from 11.30- 1pm. The Thangool Race Club is 12km from Biloela.

8. Nesian Mystik live

NEW Zealand group Nesian Mystik will play at the Harvey Road Tavern tomorrow night.

The 18 years and over event will have the tavern grooving to RnB, hip-hop and reggae tunes.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are available at the bar for $40.

9. Outdoor movie night

A FREE outdoor screening of The Lego movie will be held at Vantage Park tomorrow at 5.30pm.

Come down and get your face painted or grab a balloon animal.

Cartoons kick off the movie from 6.30pm with the movie starting at 7pm.

10. Calliope pool fun

CHILLout at the Calliope Pool on Sunday from 1- 3pm.

There will be inflatable pool equipment and zorb balls.

Normal pool entry applies and the kiosk will be open for drinks and snacks. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.
