Teacup of solidarity

TANNUM SANDS trio Kelli Noy, Noela Fleming and Amanda McIvor have been crowned Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, Royal-Tea by Cancer Council Queensland for raising more then $24,000 since 2007.

The ladies were thanked at a VIP function in Rockhampton last week.

Ms Noy said the trio was pleased to support Cancer Council Queensland through the Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.

"Each of us has been touched by cancer, with either a family member or a close friend having battled the disease,

so we're happy to tip the balance in the fight against cancer by making a cuppa to make a difference," she said.

"Research into a cure and better treatments has already come a long way and we're positive we can help achieve a cancer-free future."

The ladies are already planning for this year's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, which will feature tasty homemade treats, a fashion parade, specialty stalls and raffles with heaps of prizes.

Thursday, May 24 is the official tea party date, but anyone can host a morning tea any time during May or early June.
