Tannum High revives the 80s in a musical
TAKE a trip back in time with Tannum Sands State High School's musical, Back to the '80s.
Fifty students from years 10-12 have busily been rehearsing for the show on July 24 and 25.
This is the school's 10th anniversary of producing musicals and to celebrate it is performing Back to the 80s, 10 years after its first performance.
Some of the original cast are coming back to watch it, too.
From the era that brought the world The Rubik's Cube, Max Headroom and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the musical incorporates the style of movies such as Back to the Future and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
The school encourages anyone in the region to join the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they live through their final senior year experiencing the fun, heartbreak, loves and loneliness of growing up.
Year 12 student Luke Rawlings is performing in his fourth musical this year.
"The feel-good environment of working with a group of students to produce a musical is a great and I think everyone should try it at least once," he said.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Tickets are available at the school office.
