Support Subway to help sport clubs

GLADSTONE residents have the chance to “lend a helping hand” to local junior sporting clubs by getting behind their favourite Subway restaurant.

Subway Gladstone CBD and Subway Clinton announced they will participate in a national search to find Australia’s favourite Subway restaurant.

The restaurant voted Australia’s favourite will win the chance to donate a $2000 prize to one or more children’s sporting clubs locally.

Brendan Irwin, franchisee of both Subway stores, is keen to ensure local kids are given a “sporting chance” by encouraging residents to vote.

“Our local sporting clubs perform such a vital role in our community, in helping kids to remain fit and healthy,” Mr Irwin said.

“At Subway restaurants, we strive to offer healthier and low-fat options, which provide our customers with choices for a healthier lifestyle.

“We would be delighted to lend our support to a local junior sporting club or clubs.”

He said residents who voted for Subway Gladstone CBD or Subway Clinton would also be invited to an exclusive celebration party if the restaurant wins.

“As Australia’s favourite Subway restaurant, we would win the opportunity to throw an official celebration party exclusively for our Subway Eat Fresh Club members and those who voted for us,” Mr Irwin said.

“Aside from free lunch, our guests will have the chance to win an iPad2.

“It could be a great local event.”

To enter, Gladstone residents are encouraged to go to www.subway.com.au.

Just join the Subway Eat Fresh Club and vote for either Subway Gladstone CBD or Subway Clinton.

A weekly prize of an iPod Touch will also be won by lucky voters.

As a member of the Subway Eat Fresh Club, voters will also receive regular special offers available only to members.

Australia’s Favourite Subway Restaurant competition will run from April 18 to May 29.

The winner will be announced in June, with the celebration event also held in the same month.
