Super effort as Gladstone IGA takes out top state awards

GLADSTONE'S Sun Valley Supa IGA took on more than 200 IGA retailers from across the state to come out with four noteworthy awards at The IGA Retailer of the Year Awards.

Each store was judged on a range of criteria including sales, profits, merchandising, customer service and the store's performance offering.

Drakes Sun Valley Supa IGA won the Grocery and Bakery Department of the year, the Checkout Service Department of the Year and the 2013 Retailer of the Year.

Store manager Mark Harley said the awards were a credit to his staff for their hard work and great customer service.

"I'm very excited for the team. It takes a lot of effort to win awards like this.

"It's good to see them recognised," Mr Harley said.

He said they would maintain the standards set by the team over the year to hopefully have a similar outcome at next year's awards.
