Stars' Cars: Big Bash's Roz Kelly
THE Rebel Women's Big Bash League returned to our screens last weekend, with TEN Sport's Roz Kelly also making a welcome comeback to the network for the T20 cricket series.
The reporter and presenter is juggling this new role with being a mum to one-year-old Arias and wife to South African cricketer Morne Morkel, but still found time to pad up and face our motoring questions.
What was your first car?
A bright green Mazda 121. Commonly known as the jelly bean car on the streets but I called it my Mazderati. She lasted me 11 great years.
What are you driving now?
Mostly a pram! But I've pimped it out with an attachable scooter that I can also cruise on. It even has speakers. They see us rollin'...
What car did your family have growing up?
We are a big road trip family and always had Toyota LandCruisers as far back as I can remember. We drove all over the country on fantastic family adventures. I spent many hours digging the car out of sand dunes when dad got us bogged.
What is your greatest frustration on the road?
Angry, aggressive drivers. I just smile and wave at them and hope some positivity rubs off. There's really more important things in life to get worked up over.
Where's your favourite place in the world to drive?
I'm based in South Africa now and The Garden Route is spectacular. It takes my breath away every time I drive along it.
Any preferred driving music?
I'm a sucker for anything old school.
Who's your ideal road trip companion?
My husband and son. Although, like a typical man, my hubby doesn't trust to my navigation skills and we always get lost and end up blaming each other.
What's your dream car?
I'm not really fussed on what I drive. As long as I get from A to B. But we actually do own a safari game viewer car in South Africa for our bush adventures. .. which for an Aussie is the biggest novelty ever!
