Some funny cricket in only under-lights clash of season

CRICKET: The lights were on and both Tannum and Boyne shone under the spotlight in their annual clash.

Tannum avenged last year's loss on the back of some power hitting from BITS new recruit Jason Batchelor who caressed fours and sixes.

The Observer's Matt Taylor bluffed Batchelor to a mishit, but only for the fine leg to drop a difficult chance. Bryce Hardwick and Nathan Cobb also retired after they both reached scores beyond 30 on way to 186.

The Observer's Glen Porteous snared 2-15. Boyne made 124 largely due to the efforts of Matt Fawdry (21), Michael Gough with 20 and Scott Pitt with 19.

The Observer sports editor Nick Kossatch bowled rubbish, but made a lusty 11 for Boyne.
