Region info website goes live
THE GAPDL's much-anticipated Gladstone region website is up and running.
GAPDL website project officer Melissa Dahtler said the site would promote the Gladstone region as a great place to live, work and invest.
She said it would also offer visitor information such as attractions and accommodation.
The site is a joint venture between the GAPDL and seven other regional tourism organisations.
Ms Dahtler said the new website primarily focused on tourism, but would also incorporate information on regional development.
GAPDL CEO Glen Churchill said the collaboration between the eight tourism organisations and website developer Guerilla Digital had created a winning result.
Professor Noel Scott, of the School of Tourism at University of Queensland said www.gladstoneregion.info was crucial to the region's tourism potential.
“You need to get up the ranking list (on search engines). Good connections to other sites are the key to that.”
“Inter-connected websites tend to feed off each other,” he said.
“And Gladstone's (website) ought to do better if it is connected to sites from the other seven regions.”
