Chance to go down memory lane at pictures
THERE'S nothing quite like the experience of going to the "pictures", complete with Jaffas, popcorn and Fantales.
Gladstone residents have the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane with Gladstone Musical Society's Let's Go To The Movies performance on Friday, where the group will perform some old favourites.
The society's president, Narelle Russell, said the community group would sing songs from well-known movies and musicals like My Fair Lady, the Lion King and Phantom of the Opera.
"It will be just like going to the pictures. There will be ushers, and you will have to buy a ticket," she said.
"Some of the choir members are great cooks so there will be genuine old-fashioned baked items, a lucky door prize and a craft table."
Let's Go To The Movies will start at 10am at the Senior Citizens Centre at Oaka Lane.
Morning tea will be included with the ticket price.
For more information or to book phone Mrs Russell on 4972 7072.
The fundraising morning will cover the cost of hiring the Senior Citizens Centre for the year.
The choir, which started in 1956, provides entertainment for people who don't want to go out at night.
The group has become Gladstone's answer to the Morning Melodies.
