Teen organises vigil to show support for refugees
A GLADSTONE teen wants to know exactly how many people in her local region support the intake of Syrian refugees.
So, Grade 10 Toolooa State High school student Jasmine Elliott is organising a candlelight vigil.
Jasmine is part of her school's student executive team and the Gladstone Cultural Diversity Youth Group.
"This is something that I can do that might make a small difference."
The candlelight vigil will be held next Thursday at 5.30pm at the Gladstone Marina, near the playground.
There will be a cost of $1 per candle, with funds going towards Amnesty International.
