CBD living with spectacular views offered at The Curtis

PROSPECTIVE owner-occupiers could be in for a treat as The Curtis, currently under construction, maintains its promise of spectacular Gladstone views.

On Gladstone's main street, the building with 49 luxury apartments overlooks the marina and directly out to the scenic harbour.

Sahben director Ben Smith said The Curtis was pretty much on schedule for completion at the end of the year.

"That's what our target was. In two weeks the roof will be fully on," he said.

As the project developer, Mr Smith said the apartments were well worth the views.

"It's more like the G60 than The Pinnacle," he said, when explaining the structure and design.

He said the interior colours were expected to include soft, neutral tones.

Last week The Observer was given the opportunity to experience first-hand the breathtaking outlook The Curtis offers.

Standing at the top level of the development you can clearly see over to Curtis Island and beyond, with incredible views of the city.

Refreshing breezes drift through, making the top levels ideal for summer.

Mr Smith said the apartments would consist of three distinct sizes - 85sq m and 95-100sq m, and 120-125sq m for the corner units with the best views.

Prices start from $460,000 for the smaller, lower-level units, and the larger units are expected to sell for about $785,000.

The lower level of the development, in line with Goondoon St shops, consists of about 150sq m of commercial space.

Mr Smith said it would be great to see some new cafes or restaurants obtain the space, fulfilling a need in the community.

"There's really nothing down this end," he said.

LJ Hooker director Tony Lloyd-Jones said he believed the development was suited to owner-occupiers.

"Someone looking to downsize from a house," he said.

"It offers CBD living with awesome views."
