Serenity knocks at Tannum Sands acreage

ROY Powell loves living on his acreage at Tannum Sands.

The open space, sound of nature and afternoon breeze are just some of the benefits of owning a house on a large block of land. Mr Powell and his son live at 10 Yacht Rd off Broadacres Dr at Tannum Sands, a beautiful property spread across 4889 square metres.

Mr Powell, who works for a local manufacturer, moved in to the house in October 2010 and fell in love with the country .

An ideal place to raise young children, the home also backs onto a boat ramp in Broadacres with plenty of fishing to be taken advantage of.

The area the house is located in caters for everyone's needs, Mr Powell said.

"There's something for everyone.

''Dad's got the shed, Mum's got the house and the kids have got the ground."

The home boasts two sun rooms, four bedrooms, a rumpus room, study and master ensuite as well as large living room.

A neat little fire pit can be seen towards the back of the yard.

"You can go camping and pull some chairs up around it (the pit). My son and his friends pull up swags and sleep in the yard," he said.

Mr Powell has done some extensions and said installing a pool could be an option.

"We opened up the front and back patio and put glass in. We also put solar power in," he said.

Mr Powell particularly loves the visitors he gets on his beloved timber deck.

"We get the birds who come onto the deck like red wings and lorikeets," he said.

Although Mr Powell loves living in his home, it is currently listed for sale.
