Gladstone ready for its annual Seafood Festival
GLADSTONE'S biggest celebration of seafood is just days away.
The Gladstone Seafood Festival will be held on Sunday from 11am-5pm at the Gladstone Ports Corporation Marina Parklands.
Event preparations have been finalised and Gladstone Festivals and Events president Raymond Lewis promised it would be a great day out for locals.
"We're really pleased with how the program has come together this year," said Mr Lewis.
"We feel like we have the perfect recipe for a great event, with cooking demonstrations for the foodies, live music and of course delicious fresh seafood."
The festival will feature entertainment from indie folk rock trio Short Fall throughout the day.
There will be a special performance from Tannum Sands High School Marching Band at 11.15am.
There will be two cooking demonstrations with celebrity chef Alastair McLeod at 12pm and 2.30pm and the hilariously fun One Arm Prawn Peeling Competition.
There will also be rides to keep the kids entertained and a great variety of food stalls.
Gladstone Fish Market will be serving up the seafood for the event, with a mouth-watering selection of fresh prawns, bugs, crabs, oysters and mussels.
There will be a licensed bar operating throughout the event, with drink tickets available for purchase, along with a huge variety of food and speciality stalls.
