Ruler of rink has no fear of fierce derby ladies
He's been a roller derby referee for the past year and doesn't fear the fierce Gladstone team, Harbour City Hustlers.
On the track he's known as Skoll Krakka.
His wife Kristel is also heavily involved in the sport, being part of the Gladstone league for the past three years.
When asked what he enjoyed most about his role in the Gladstone roller derby scene he replied: "Telling my wife what to do and she actually has to listen, also helping out our local league, because without refs they can't practice."
He said he enjoys refereeing because he is able to be a part of the game without the added pressure of making the team.
The three-day Northern Tropic Thunder derby competition in June has been his biggest ref stint to date.
Kris and Kristel are born and bred Gladstonites. They have two kids, Lily, 6, and Ronan, 4.
The qualified electrician has worked for Ergon Energy for the 12 years.
"All of our family is here, it's not a bad lifestyle," they said.
