Dreadlocked hat shows Kidd's confidence in Blues

ROB Kidd is confident New South Wales will win the 2014 Origin series.

So confident in fact that he will don a blue, dreadlocked hat with 13 of his family members at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Originally from Maclean, New South Wales, the dedicated Blues supporter hopes the side's eight-year losing streak will come to an end this year.

"It will be a New South Wales victory by three. That three is including a field goal - just to rub it in!" Rob said.

Although nothing has changed since the Blues' loss last year, Rob still remains positive.

"We're just going to have a good old crack at it," he said.

Tonight's game will be the first time he has watched an Origin match live.

"Usually I'll have a few mates around and just have a quiet night, because I have to get up early and when we lose I know I can just turn the TV off and go to bed - which has happened the last eight years."

The second of the three Origin games will kick off at 8pm.

The final game of the series will be held on July 9.
