Rising league star signs on with North Queensland Cowboys
JACK Glossop dreams of playing in the NRL, and already the 16-year-old is well on his way.
After signing a two-year contract with the Cowboys recently, Glossop will have the club's support until he graduates school in about 18 months.
The plan is to then leave the Cowboys in no doubt that he's good enough to be in Townsville and sign on to their under-20s squad.
Glossop was already in an academy program with the Broncos and the Cowboys when he was headhunted for the north Queenslanders.
"I got a letter asking to join the Cowboys academy, and I could do both that and the Broncos," he said.
"I have signed a two-year deal, which at the moment I do academy training once a month, and they watch a lot of my games."
He is also able to log on to give the club his schedule, ask advice and get training programs.
Glossop completes most of his obligations while at St Brendan's College.
He was in Townsville recently and had a sneak peek at what he hoped would be his future lifestyle.
"I really like the Cowboys, just being with them lately. They asked me to stay in Townsville an extra couple of days to watch the game and meet the players," he said.
"I had hoped to get a contract this year or next year. Now my goal is to get an under-20s contract."
Glossop also plays for the St Brendan's first team.
