A relaxed event at marina
KIM Waddell had a fair idea her partner of three year's Tim Barker would propose.
"We'd talked about it and he'd asked about the ring," Kim said.
"We went out for a romantic dinner in June last year and he asked me."
Kim said Tim did very well when choosing the ring.
The lovely couple were married at the marina earlier this month.
The day could not have been more perfect.
Both bride and groom wanted the reception to be a relaxed and fun-filled affair.
"We both have kids from previous partners and a lot of our friends have kids so we wanted everyone to have a good time," Kim said.
"We had jumping castles and a bonfire at home; it was perfect."
The wedding party was striking, with a colour theme of black and red.
"Red is my favourite colour but some of the bridesmaids didn't think red was flattering," Kim said.
"We compromised with black dresses and red bouquets."
The couple returned from their honeymoon at Airlie Beach on Sunday evening.
Kim said a highlight was the time spent at Daydream Island
"We didn't want to come home," Kim said.
"The weather was perfect; we had an amazing time."
