Gladstone gets few drops of rain as storm fails to eventuate

GLADSTONE only received a trickle of rain over the weekend, despite a severe weather warning being issued for the region.

On Saturday the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning, damaging winds and heavy rainfall for Gladstone, Rockhampton and Biloela.

By Saturday afternoon the bureau had recorded 0.2 mm in Gladstone.

The warning was later cancelled.

Gladstone has received 638.8mm of rain so far this year, just under last year's total to September of 690mm.

The forecast for Monday is for isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, with an expected maximum temperature of 28 degrees.
