EXCITED: Rotary Club of Gladstone director Pauline Kelly and Christmas trailer raffle winner Raewyn Huddy celebrate.

Raewyn’s on a hot streak of winning raffles

RAEWYN Huddy always buys raffles tickets but had never won until she moved from the Northern Territory to Gladstone more than a year ago.

Now she is on a hot streak, having won $5500 on a mystery trifecta on the Melbourne Cup and now the Rotary Club of Gladstone Christmas trailer raffle.

"The trailer has been the best because we needed it," she said. "We had been talking about selling one of our cars and buying a trailer but we just won one.

"My goodness I was excited."

Rotary Club of Gladstone president Julie Robinson said the raffle raised $5256 that would go back into the community or international initiatives.

"All the items in the raffle were bought by members. We buy the trailer and the items," she said.

"We have been doing it for the last three years with a trailer and before that it was a big stocking.

"People like if a trailer comes with it.

"We always make sure there is something in the trailer for every member of the family."

The club has 52 members and meets every Thursday at 6.15pm at the Grand Hotel.
