Quest to enter Gladstone community life been great so far

ONLY six weeks into his stay in Gladstone, business development executive with Quest Group Barry Stack has been pressing the flesh plenty since his arrival.

The hospitality manager is now based in Gladstone and plans to be here long-term, after relocating from Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland, on the Sunshine Coast.

"I was with Rydges Oasis for a couple of years before it was sold to the Oaks group and I've been with Hilton Hotels before that and spent most of my time in hospitality," he said.

"I've had many years in South-East Asia, USA and Australia."

Mr Stack said he was most looking forward to continuing the brand's growth, with a particular focus on consolidating its corporate business and further strengthening community relationships.

"I'm heavily committed to the local community," he said.

"We're a good corporate citizen; the hotel's involved with a number of community and sporting groups in Gladstone."

And when it comes to his new home, Mr Stack can't fault Gladstone so far.

"It's a great spot up here," he said.
