Q and A: UGLY bartender takes 10 with the Times
THERE are many truly remarkable people in the South Burnett.
Each and every one of us has a lifetime of achievements, thoughts, beliefs and lessons learned.
The Q&A feature is an opportunity to showcase some of those exceptional people in our proud region.
This week, we hear from Nanango RSL member and UGLY barmaid Jenna Adams.
What is something you resent paying for?
Parking at hospitals. People don't generally go to hospital for a good time, they have enough to worry about without parking fees as well.
What is the best advice you ever received?
That when your time is up, it's up, so don't put off the things you want to do or see waiting for the right moment.
What do you do to relax?
Getting outdoors and spending time in nature.
What is one thing you would struggle to quit?
Buying plants. It is quite amazing how much joy bringing a new plant home seems to give me.
What do you wish you knew when you were younger?
How much I would love running now that I'm nearly in my 30's ... really wishing I had of put a bit more effort into all of those high school cross countries.
What is the worst injury you've had and how did it happen?
As a child I spent a few days in hospital from what they believe was a reaction to a white-tail spider bite.
What would your friends say is your worst habit?
Overthinking everything, especially when it comes to trying something new.
What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
I think what stands out most is the amount of support my family received while I was in hospital, and again after Dad passed away.
If you could write a new law, what would it be?
For the laws of adoption to be changed. There are so many children in need of access to a permanent and loving home.
What do you do when you have 30 minutes free?
If I get 30 minutes free it's usually to catch up on the house work I've been neglecting while I'm out enjoying life.
