Conditions should be perfect for surfing's Longboard Classic

THE Longboard Classic is only a week away, so I am pumped.

I have been working toward and looking forward to this for a long time, a whole year actually, from the moment last year's event ended.

As with a lot of things, the interest has really peaked now the date is close, and there are only a few spots left for the competition.

We have seen some promising signs for the competition as well. It has been a hot week which should continue, so nice weather should please us all and make the whole weekend better.

The south-easterly is picking up this weekend too, offering a nice preview of what is to come on the competition weekend, and provide an excellent opporunity for a little practice.

From the forecast, it is likely we will have a few little sand banks around as well, making for perfect conditions.

I am busting to get to it.

Having watched a lot of the Australian Open of Surfing, the quality has me pumped to now watch some local competition.

It was great to see Carissa Moore kill it at the start of the year, expecially to pump sponsors Hurley.

Watching Carissa and the men's winner Adriano De Souza carve it up, despite the small conditions, put me in the mood for the Reef 2 Beach Longboard Classic.

Bring it on!

Longboard Classic:

  • Friday - From 9am
  • Saturday - From 7am
  • Sunday - From 7am
