PREMIER Campbell Newman has deflected questions about Gladstone's troubled health system.

During a press conference outside the Gladstone Regional Council chamber on Tuesday, Mr Newman said Health Minister Lawrence Springborg would be more appropriate to deal with the issue.

Gladstone MP Liz Cunningham said it was "frustrating" her calls to fix the Gladstone's troubled hospital system were going unanswered.

Mrs Cunningham said she regularly raised the issue with Mr Springborg when in parliament.
