UPDATE: Elderly woman killed in crash was on holiday
A CAMPING trip has ended in tragedy for a Sunshine Coast Family after a fatal crash on Rosedale Rd this morning.
An 80-year-old woman was killed when her car veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a police car.
It is believed her family were travelling in a convoy a few cars ahead following a camping trip at Agnes Water.
The officer in the police car, Senior Constable Dan Lukan, tried to take evasive action but sustained injuries including a broken leg and was flown to the Royal Brisbane Women and Children's Hospital.
THE elderly woman trapped in her vehicle has died after a serious crash with a police car.
A police officer with knee and chest injuries has been flown to hospital in a stable condition.
A RESCUE helicopter has been sent from Bundaberg to help the elderly woman who is still trapped in her car and having trouble breathing.
The police officer has a suspected broken leg.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service, Ambulance and Police are all on scene.
The head on crash occurred on Rosedale and Mullet Creek Rds with the call coming in at 10.55am
A POLICE officer has been in a two vehicle crash just south of Rosedale.
Queensland Ambulance Service reported the officer is out of the vehicle but in a lot of pain.
The female driver of the other vehicle is trapped in her car.

It's not far from where 71-year-old Mackay local Christopher Hazell died on Saturday. That single-vehicle crash happened 15km south of the town on the Bruce Hwy at 1.15pm on Saturday, near Colosseum.
His death takes this year's road toll in Queensland to 196.
