Points on offer on the track

MOTORSPORT: For Enduro rider Jason Rice, it's just a matter of staying on the bike and finishing the race.

Because if he does that, then he will take out the Veteran's Over-35 class in tomorrow's fifth and final round of the Central Queensland Offroad Interclub Series at Turners Property in Turkey Beach.

Rice is on 88 points ahead of Justin Long (64 points).

"I need to get two points to win and first place gets 25 points, second gets 22 and third gets 20,” Rice explained.

"The points get less down the list.”

Rice said recent rain has made the track in pristine condition for the day-long event.

"The track is in perfect condition and there won't be any dust and if you want to go riding, then this is perfect,” Rice said.

"There's so much time put into the track.”

Rice said the final race for the season is a great chance for motorsport lovers to see Enduro action.

"There's heaps of spectator vantage points and the track is about 40km south from Gladstone,” he said.

"The track consists of uphill and downhill spots and some muddy areas, so it will be challenging for the riders.”

All classes will be run as Iron Man except for a team Clubman class which will not go towards series trophies.

The categories in the all-day event are Expert Open, Expert Lites, Veterans, Ladies, Ironman Clubman, Team Clubman, Junior Lites, Mini Lites and 65cc.

Senior racing goes from 9am-1pm and juniors will hit the track from 2pm and finish at 4pm.

The weather is forecast to be fine and sunny with a temperature of 30 degrees - perfect conditions for great riding.
