PHOTOS: Residents shave, colour hair for good cause

YOU don't usually laugh at a security guard, but you'd be forgiven for having a chuckle at Stockland Gladstone's security guard on Saturday.

Bob Scarth donned pink hair and moustache, after he was one of the residents who put their hair on the line for the Leukaemia Foundation.

World's Greatest Shave events were held over the weekend in the Gladstone region.

In a spontaneous act of kindness, Bob decided on Saturday morning he wanted to get involved in the fundraiser.

He visited each store for donations, and ended up with a healthy sum of $150.

But for the rest of the day he sported pink hair and moustache.

"It was a toss up between going multi-coloured or just pink, but we decided to go pink," he said.

Also taking part was Gladstone brothers David and Carlisle Gregory.

For the third year in a row they were the first residents to do the shave for the day.
