Monday Male moved here for work, loves outdoor opportunities
AN OUTDOOR adventurer is just one way to describe this Gladstonite.
Sheldon Munroe, 23, works as a plumber but his other passions all exist in the great outdoors.
The young tradesman began his apprenticeship at just 15.
And since moving from his home town on the Sunshine Coast 12 months ago, he has continued to gain in experience and knowledge.
He is currently running a crew of eight at a high-rise project at Boyne Island.
"It can be challenging," Mr Munroe admitted. "It's a fair bit of responsibility."
While a typical week finds him working six days, there is still plenty of time to enjoy an entertaining Gladstone lifestyle.
From four-wheel-driving to rifle range shooting and fishing - Mr Munroe aims to make the most of his time.
"I do have a boat up here and fishing-wise, I try to get out when I can," he said.
His biggest catch to date was a barramundi, just under one metre in length.
"The fishing is great up here.
"My favourite hot spots are the Boyne River and The Narrows."
In the future Mr Munroe said he'd love to stay in Gladstone for at least a few more years, but down the track possibly buy his own home on the Sunshine Coast.
Why? "Just because it's home," he said.
