Our boys and girls teams do CQ and NQ proud on Sunny Coast

AUSSIE RULES: The footy season continues for several Gladstone and Boyne Island juniors.

BITS Saints pair Maddi Bishop and Sophie Ure, along with Jada Hart (Gladstone Mudcrabs) are in the Country Queensland under-17 Kookaburras team which lost its first game to North Queensland by three points. But CQ then recovered yesterday to thrash Papua New Guinea 9.10 (64) to 2.1 (13). Finals commence today.

BITS Saints' Brooke Sheridan and Tierney Burke (Gladstone Mudcrabs) have played key roles for the North Queensland U14 Kookaburras team.

Kookaburras remain undefeated after a solid 6.8 (44) to 1.6 (12) over Northern Rivers yesterday, after a 15.17 (117) win against a scoreless Wide Bay and beat Darling Downs 51-15.

Tierney was fourth best in the first game while Brooke has shown outstanding form with a second best in game two. Brooke featured in the best players again yesterday as her Kookaburras finished an unblemished campaign. Central Queensland Kookaburras' U14 boys also went through undefeated with wins against Brisbane South East, Brisbane North and Sunshine Coast respectively. Saints' Jordan Jacobsen and Muddies' Jason Stanhope represented the 'Burras.
